Vietnam Airlines Launches Direct Ahmedabad–Hanoi Flights, Strengthening India–Vietnam Connectivity
Vietnam Airlines has launched a new direct flight service between Ahmedabad and Hanoi, strengthening air connectivity between Gujarat and Vietnam. The four-times-weekly service marks the airline’s entry into Gujarat and its fifth passenger destination in India.
Vietnam Airlines has expanded its presence in the Indian market with the launch of a new direct flight connecting Ahmedabad with Hanoi. The inaugural flight departed from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on November 3, 2026, establishing a new direct air link between Gujarat and Vietnam.
The new service will operate four times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, offering travellers from Ahmedabad and neighbouring regions convenient access to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. Passengers will also benefit from onward connections to destinations across Vietnam and the airline’s wider international network.
The launch marks an important milestone in Ahmedabad Airport’s growing international connectivity and is expected to strengthen tourism, business travel and trade between Gujarat and Vietnam.
H.E. Trinh Minh Manh, Ambassador of Vietnam to India, welcomed the development, stating that improved air connectivity would further encourage tourism, trade, business exchanges and people-to-people relationships, while strengthening the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
A spokesperson for Ahmedabad International Airport Limited (AIAL) said the airport was pleased to welcome Vietnam Airlines and support the commencement of the new international service. The Ahmedabad–Hanoi connection will provide travellers with greater convenience and choice while contributing to Gujarat’s growing international aviation network.
Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager, India, Vietnam Airlines, said the new route reflects the airline’s continued commitment to the Indian market and its ambition to make Vietnam more accessible to Indian travellers. He highlighted Gujarat’s potential across leisure, business and MICE travel, adding that the direct service would offer convenient access to Hanoi, Vietnam’s diverse destinations and the airline’s wider international network.
Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director & CEO, Aeroprime Group, Vietnam Airlines’ Passenger General Sales Agent (GSA) in India, described Ahmedabad as a commercially significant market with strong business activity and increasing interest in international travel. He noted that the new service represents another milestone in the airline’s expansion across India and will help strengthen connectivity between Gujarat and Vietnam.
The new route is expected to create fresh opportunities for leisure tourism, corporate travel, MICE movements and trade, while making Vietnam more accessible to travellers from Gujarat and neighbouring markets.
