Uzbekistan Unveils 'Golden Valley' and 'Ring of Forts' Tourist Routes

Uzbekistan is expanding its tourism potential by introducing new historical routes aimed at attracting both domestic and international visitors. The country’s Tourism Committee recently announced the launch of two major routes: the “Tourist Ring of the Golden Valley” and the “Ring of Forts,” designed to highlight Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage.

The “Tourist Ring of the Golden Valley” will encompass the eastern regions of Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan, offering travelers a chance to explore the unique cultural and historical sites in these areas. This route aims to immerse visitors in the traditions and history of the region, making it a significant draw for those interested in Uzbekistan’s cultural legacy.

In the western part of the country, the “Ring of Forts” will take tourists through the Khorazm Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, showcasing ancient fortresses that stand as testaments to Uzbekistan’s historical significance. These routes are part of a broader initiative to enhance the country’s internal and external tourism potential.

According to Uzbekistan’s state statistics agency, the country welcomed 6.6 million foreign tourists in 2023, including approximately 42,500 visitors from China. The new routes are expected to further boost tourism numbers by offering diverse and enriching experiences.

The Tourism Committee emphasized that improving the quality of services for both foreign and local tourists remains a priority, ensuring that Uzbekistan continues to grow as a key destination in Central Asia
