A New Era in International Travel
PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa) is making headlines as it ushers in 2025 with the launch of a new international route from Bali, Indonesia, to Perth, Australia. This strategic expansion marks a significant milestone for TransNusa, a growing player in the aviation industry, as it continues to redefine air travel by offering more choices and greater convenience for passengers.

These tickets can be easily purchased through transnusa.co.id or any reputable online travel agent, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all passengers.
Strategic Significance of the Bali-Perth Route
“The Bali – Perth international route is a golden route as the highest number of tourists, almost every year, in Bali are from Perth. Hence, the demand for this route is equally significant,” said Datuk Bernard, adding that TransNusa will be launching the maiden flight from Bali to Perth on March 20, this year.
On the details of the scheduled flights, Datuk Bernard explained, “Initially, TransNusa will operate three scheduled flights a week, which will be on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. From April 12, we will increase the frequency to four times a week by adding another flight on Tuesday and eventually increase the frequency to a daily flight from June 1 onwards.”
Flight Details and Aircraft Configuration
The scheduled flight, 8B 080 (DPS-PER), will depart from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali at 09:10 AM, arriving at Perth Airport at 12:50 PM. The return flight, 8B 081 (PER-DPS), will depart Perth at 1:35 PM and arrive back in Bali at 5:20 PM. The airline will utilize its Airbus A320 aircraft, which offers a seating capacity of 174 and a flight duration of 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Expanding Horizons: Bali to Manado and Beyond
In addition to the Bali-Perth route, TransNusa also operates scheduled flights from Bali to Manado, a popular diving destination in Indonesia. With five weekly flights to Manado, tourists from Perth have the opportunity to explore this picturesque region directly, enhancing their travel experience.
Premium Services and Product Bundles
“Our passengers will enjoy check-in baggage of between 15kgs to 30kgs, depending on the product purchased,” Datuk Bernard said, explaining that the baggage offering was over and above the 7kgs limit offered as a passenger’s hand carry.
“For the highest package, FLEXI-PRO, we provide more complete services such as free baggage 30kgs, free to choose seats, free food, and drinks, priority at check-in and boarding. In addition, TransNusa also provides its FLEXI-PRO passengers with the ability to be able to change their flight schedule without restrictions and obtain a refund when needed.”
Comfort and Affordability
TransNusa is dedicated to ensuring passenger comfort. The Airbus A320 is configured to provide approximately 30 inches of legroom, offering a comfortable experience comparable to full-service airlines. Datuk Bernard emphasized, “We are committed to providing affordable and competitive ticket prices while still offering premium services to our customers.”
A Resilient Comeback
TransNusa’s journey has been remarkable. After ceasing operations in September 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline relaunched in October 2022 under the leadership of a new management team led by Datuk Bernard Francis. This revival included a fresh business strategy, positioning TransNusa as a Premium Service Carrier adapted to the post-pandemic aviation landscape.
International Expansion and Achievements
Since its relaunch, TransNusa has expanded aggressively. In April 2023, the airline introduced its first international route between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. By the end of 2023, TransNusa had successfully launched three more international routes, cementing its status as one of the fastest-growing airlines in Southeast Asia.
Transforming the Aviation Landscape
TransNusa has been instrumental in changing the aviation landscape in Indonesia. The airline made history by becoming the first to introduce a domestic route connecting Bali and Manado. It also became the second Indonesian airline to gain approval to fly to China, offering more pricing and route options to Chinese destinations.
With its innovative approach, TransNusa is poised to continue its upward trajectory, contributing to the growth and dynamism of the regional aviation industry.
