Following a remarkable 31% increase in Indian arrivals in 2025 and an outstanding 224% growth compared to 2019, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) successfully concluded a strategic three-city MICE roadshow across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Held from March 23 to 25, 2026, the initiative brought together over 80 travel trade professionals and partners from Morocco, spotlighting Morocco’s growing prominence as a MICE and experiential travel destination.

Morocco’s strength in the MICE segment is anchored by its state-of-the-art convention infrastructure, luxury hospitality offerings, and globally benchmarked venues across cities such as Marrakech, Casablanca, and Rabat. The country has consistently demonstrated its capabilities by hosting major international events, including the COP22 and the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings 2023, reinforcing its readiness to manage large-scale Indian delegations.

With an inventory of over 300,000 hotel beds and high-capacity venues such as the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech and the expansive Espace Bab Jdid, Morocco is uniquely positioned to host large-format Indian incentive groups without compromising on luxury. Ease of access is further enhanced by the “Access Maroc” e-visa platform, offering quick processing timelines, while on-ground services include English and Hindi-speaking chauffeurs, ensuring a seamless experience for Indian travellers.

Understanding the importance of culinary familiarity, Morocco has also strengthened its Indian dining offerings, including Michelin-starred Indian cuisine at The Oberoi Marrakech, alongside dedicated Indian chef teams in Casablanca and Rabat. The destination is also witnessing growing demand in the wedding segment, with 2026 expected to be a milestone year as Indian destination weddings evolve into multi-day, luxury celebrations hosted in palaces and resorts.

In the realm of film tourism, Ouarzazate—often referred to as the Hollywood of Morocco—offers a cinematic landscape that resonates strongly with Indian audiences, making it an ideal setting for corporate events and grand celebrations.

Commenting on the initiative, Jamal Kilito, Country Manager – India, MNTO, said:
India is rapidly emerging as a high-value, high-intent market for Morocco. Our focus has shifted from awareness to conversion—building deeper partnerships and long-term preference. With strong growth across MICE, luxury travel, and destination weddings, coupled with increasing media visibility and collaborations, Morocco is well-positioned for sustained growth. Investments aligned with upcoming global events like the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and the FIFA World Cup 2030 are further enhancing the country’s infrastructure and event capabilities.

In 2025, Morocco welcomed 53,697 Indian travellers, reflecting a 31% year-on-year increase. The destination now aims to attract approximately 70,000 Indian visitors in 2026, driven by targeted MICE promotions and strategic luxury partnerships. By blending world-class infrastructure with culturally attuned, experience-led offerings, Morocco is steadily positioning itself as a preferred destination for Indian corporates, incentive groups, and celebratory travel.
