Dilli Ke Pakwaan

Street Food Festival to Treat the Taste Buds of Dilliwallahs

Dilli Ke Pakwaan, a seven- day food fiesta is organized by Delhi Tourism in the capital every year. The event brings in street food from all the corners of Delhi to the center of the city, Connaught Place. The event has not only become a must to visit for Delhiites but people from other cities as well as from abroad come to visit and satisfy their taste buds.
Delicacies from Purani Dilli- mutton kormachicken tikkachicken chengezi, kulfi, falooda, rabri, chaat, namash, mirchi pakora, bajre ki roti, gatta were all displayed on various stalls at the venue. Sarangi player Kamal Sabri, with accompanying musicians, treated visitors to some soul-stirring music. Many of the visitors found this food fiesta as a very convenient set up for enjoying the variety of delicacies as one doesn’t have to go searching for this food in other areas.
The chicken chengezi and Mughlai stalls were among the ones which attracted visitors the most. Ganesh fish stall from Karol Bagh and Daulat Ki Chaat were also quite big hits. The massive jalebi, almost the size of a man’s palm was another interesting item on display. The chill in the air didn’t deter visitors from having mouthfuls of kulfi either.
