ATOAI Elects New Leadership for 2026–28; Tejbir Singh Anand Takes Over as President
The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Financial Year 2025–26, followed by elections for its Office Bearers and Executive Committee for the term 2026–28.
The AGM brought together members of India’s adventure tourism fraternity for a review of the Association’s activities, financial performance and priorities for the sector. Proceedings included the presentation of the Annual Report for FY 2025–26, consideration and adoption of the Audited Financial Statements, appointment of the Statutory Auditor for FY 2026–27, and discussions on matters concerning the Association and the wider adventure tourism industry.
Focus on Safety, Sustainability and Professional Standards
Presenting the report and addressing the AGM, Mrs Arshdeep Anand, Vice President, highlighted ATOAI’s continued commitment to building a stronger and more responsible adventure tourism ecosystem in India.
Over the past year, the Association has focused on strengthening safety, sustainability, professional standards, training and capacity building, while deepening engagement with government institutions, tourism authorities and industry stakeholders.
The Annual Report reflected ATOAI’s efforts to create greater awareness around responsible adventure tourism through advocacy, knowledge sharing, professional development and initiatives aimed at raising standards across the sector.
The AGM also reaffirmed the importance of a united industry voice as adventure tourism in India enters a period of significant opportunity and growth.
ATOAI Elects Leadership for 2026–28
Following the AGM, elections for the 2026–28 term were conducted under the supervision of Returning Officer Mr Rajeev Kohli.
The newly elected Office Bearers are:
President: Mr Tejbir Singh Anand — Holiday Moods Adventures Pvt. Ltd.
Senior Vice President: Mr Vaibhav Kala — Aquaterra Adventures India Pvt. Ltd.
Vice President: Mr Ronny Singh Gulati — Youreka Campouts Services Pvt. Ltd.
Honorary Secretary: Mr Paras Loomba — GHE Impact Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
Honorary Treasurer: Mr Yog Chinmoy Dutt — Junoon Adventure and Eco Tours
The elected Executive Committee Members are:
Mr Shekhar Babu — Transcend Adventures Pvt. Ltd.
Mr Amit Periwal — Clubside Tours and Travels Pvt. Ltd.
The new leadership assumes responsibility at an important time for the Indian adventure tourism sector as the country seeks to unlock the potential of its mountains, rivers, forests, coasts and diverse adventure destinations.
The new Executive Committee will build on ATOAI’s longstanding efforts to create an adventure tourism industry that is safe, sustainable, responsible, resilient and globally competitive.
The Association will continue to focus on strengthening safety practices and professional standards, expanding training and capacity building, promoting responsible and sustainable tourism, supporting destination development, and engaging with government and industry stakeholders on policies that enable responsible growth.
With India increasingly recognised for its immense adventure tourism potential, ATOAI believes that future growth must be accompanied by greater professionalism, stronger safety systems and a clear commitment to protecting the natural and cultural environments in which adventure tourism operates.
Strengthening the Voice of Indian Adventure Tourism
For more than three decades, ATOAI has brought together adventure tour operators and tourism professionals with the shared objective of building a stronger and more credible industry. Its work has centred on improving standards, promoting safety and sustainability, supporting professional development and encouraging constructive engagement between industry and government.
Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President Mr Tejbir Singh Anand said:

The newly elected Executive Committee expressed its commitment to working closely with ATOAI members, government agencies, tourism boards and other stakeholders to advance the shared interests of the sector and contribute towards positioning India as a leading global destination for safe and responsible adventure tourism.
