Shaping Malabar, Inspiring Stakeholders: MTM 2025 Charts a Confident Tourism Path

Kozhikode: The Malabar Tourism Meet (MTM) 2025, organised by the Malabar Tourism Council, concluded on a grand note with enthusiastic participation from across India and overseas. Inaugurated by Shri M.K. Raghavan, Hon’ble MP of Kozhikode, the meeting highlighted the importance of public–private partnerships and called for a dedicated Malabar Tourism wing to fully unlock the region’s potential in terms of income, employment, and cultural growth.
The one-day event brought together over 120 hosted buyers, including 30 members from Karnataka Tourism Forum ( KTF) and 140 exhibitors, with leading hospitality brands like Taj Hotels, CGH Earth, Stride, and Nexstay Group, alongside India Tourism and Kerala government agencies such as KTDC, KSINC, and Muziris. Exhibitors also ranged from tech platforms to bespoke cultural and experiential service providers, making the platform diverse and inclusive.

Adding intellectual depth, MTM hosted four thought-provoking Samvad sessions on topics like Future of Tourism – Business Opportunities, Malabar Tourism: The Next 20 Years, AI & New Age Technologies, and Challenges in Promoting Malabar. Delegates also enjoyed familiarisation trips to Kozhikode and Wayanad, along with vibrant cultural showcases from Kolkkali to Poorakkali, leaving them with a true taste of Malabar.
A major highlight was the MTM Awards of Excellence, honouring stalwarts such as Shri C.P. Moosa (Lifetime Achievement) for his pioneering work in heritage tourism and Shri P. Mohan (Best Storyteller) for his cultural narratives. Other awardees included Abbas Pulimoottil (Best GM) and Yasar Arafath (Outstanding Performance).
The event also witnessed the launch of the Malabar Showcase Handbook, unveiled by Kerala Travel Mart President Jose Pradeep, serving as both a cultural souvenir and a working guide for stakeholders.
With the strong support of principal partner Nexstay Hotels & Resorts, platinum partner Mapshore Travel, and several gold partners, MTM 2025 emerged as a milestone gathering for the region. As MTC leaders unveiled their vision for MTM 2027, the meeting concluded with optimism, renewed partnerships, and a shared commitment to position Malabar as a global tourism hub.
